OUR STORY

1922

Built for
Albert Lea

The Freeborn Bank Building and Jacobson Building have been part of Albert Lea’s story for over a century. Now, local investors are writing the next chapter, bringing new life, new energy, and new opportunity to the building at the center of it all.

THE HISTORY

A Century of
Downtown Life

When the Freeborn Bank Building opened in 1922, it anchored Albert Lea’s commercial district. For decades it housed businesses, professionals, and the daily rhythms of small-town life. The Broadway is its next great chapter.

100 Years Later

Reimagined

Local investors begin restoration — preserving original terrazzo floors, walnut millwork, and frosted glass doors while modernizing every space for today.
